Character Design – childrens drawings

To start us off with inspiration for a 3D Character Design module, the class was given 6 childrens drawings from which we could form our own characters. It was our job to identify key features and interpret a tone from these simplistic line drawings, similar to the work of TheMonsterEngine

While I love the kindly expressions and clear personalities present in ‘Nanna and Grampa’, the drawing I was instantly drawn to was ‘Veepees’. I love the large innocent eyes, his eager expression and the feeling of pure childlike energy that radiates from him
